Terms of Use for Mineral Signal

These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Mineral Signal app.
By using Mineral Signal, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of Mineral Signal
Mineral Signal is designed to help users explore, compare and learn about crystals, minerals and rocks.
AI Scan Mode analyses visible characteristics from submitted photographs and provides a likely identification together with possible alternatives and reference information.
Scan results are intended as an identification aid only. They are not laboratory-grade determinations and should not be treated as a guarantee of identity, authenticity, composition, origin, value or quality.
2. User responsibility
You are responsible for how you use information provided by Mineral Signal.
Mineral Signal should not be relied upon for decisions involving significant financial value, professional gem certification, geological certification, safety, medical treatment or other situations where specialist examination is required.
For valuable gemstones, minerals or specimens, consider obtaining an assessment from a qualified professional.
3. Free features
The Mineral Guide and Field Lab can be used without an active paid subscription.
Mineral Signal may also provide introductory free AI scans. Eligibility for these promotional scans may be limited per device.
4. Scan Pack purchases
Mineral Signal offers a 25 Scan Pack as an optional in-app purchase.
A Scan Pack:
- provides 25 AI scan credits
- does not require an active subscription
- does not automatically renew
- does not expire under the current Mineral Signal credit system
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
5. Auto-renewable subscriptions
Mineral Signal offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions.
Monthly Plan
- 50 AI scans each month
- billed monthly
Yearly Plan
- 50 AI scans each month
- billed annually
Subscription prices are displayed by Apple in the purchase interface and may vary by country, region, currency or applicable taxes.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled by the user.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Cancellation does not normally remove access already paid for during the current subscription period. The subscription remains subject to Apple's App Store subscription rules.
6. Scan allowances
Subscription scan allowances are provided in monthly allowance periods.
Unused subscription scan allowances do not roll over into a later allowance period.
Separately purchased Scan Pack credits remain separate from subscription allowances and do not expire under the current Mineral Signal credit system.
7. Restore Purchases
Mineral Signal provides Restore Purchases for supported App Store subscriptions.
Restore Purchases is intended to reconnect an eligible subscription to the current Mineral Signal app account.
Separately purchased Scan Pack credits and introductory free scans are not transferred through Restore Purchases.
8. Payments and refunds
All in-app payments are processed by Apple.
Mineral Signal does not receive or store your payment card or bank details.
Requests concerning App Store billing, payment processing or refunds may be handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's applicable App Store policies.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Mineral Signal available and reliable, but uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed.
AI analysis, network services, Apple services or other technical dependencies may occasionally be unavailable.
If a scan or purchase confirmation cannot be completed safely, Mineral Signal may delay completion rather than grant or deduct credits incorrectly.
10. Changes to the service
Mineral Signal may be updated, improved or changed over time.
Features, supported minerals, scan behaviour and available plans may change in future versions.
Any paid subscription entitlement already purchased will be handled in accordance with applicable App Store rules and the terms presented at the time of purchase.
11. Acceptable use
You may not attempt to:
- interfere with the operation or security of Mineral Signal
- manipulate purchases, credits or subscription entitlements
- access accounts or data belonging to another user
- abuse the service through automated or fraudulent requests
- reverse engineer or misuse the service except where applicable law expressly permits it
12. Intellectual property
Mineral Signal, its software, design, text, reference content and original visual materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-party services and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Privacy
Use of Mineral Signal is also subject to the Mineral Signal Privacy Policy:

14. Apple terms
Mineral Signal is distributed through Apple's App Store.
